Since motion blur is the result of a longer exposure, in this case 1/3 of a second, subjects and or the background tend to get blurred. In this image you can see that the background is not continuously blurred, but seems to have "steps" between the blurred parts. I think that this "stepping" effect is a result of the activated image stabilizer, but I am not sure. Can somebody confirm this theory?
