Muted Life

As I watch the scene, life slows down. My perception slows down. Everybody is walking slower, burdened with all the heavy clothes protecting us from the cold. We pull our heads down into the collar of our thick cloaks and scarfs. The noise of the traffic seems to be damped, the snow patina on the street and the flakes in the air are dispersing the sound waves.

Then suddenly as I press the shutter release, life grinds to a halt.
